What a few days around Pentecost! The biggest and most diverse Pentecost tournament of all time is behind us - with impressive numbers:

  • 3,406 players 
  • 947 matches 
  • 142 referees 
  • 423 coaches 
  • And numerous enthusiastic spectators 

But even more important than any number was the special atmosphere: characterized by fairness, enthusiasm and genuine community. Whether on the court, on the sidelines or in the stands - the 2025 Pentecost tournament was a celebration of basketball.

New age groups & mini division 

For the first time, teams in the U8, U9, U10 and U11 age groups competed - a big step towards promoting mini basketball. The enthusiasm of the youngest participants was contagious and provided many emotional moments.  

Basketball Aid & Heiko Schaffartzik Challenge 

In partnership with Basketball Aid, the focus was on social commitment. Patron Heiko Schaffartzik presented trophies and winners' shirts at the John F. Kennedy School, signed a jersey for the winning team of the donation challenge - and made it clear how sport and solidarity belong together.

Finals & Livestreams 

High tension in three halls - the finals offered basketball at the highest level. If you missed the games or would like to watch them again:

Improved shuttle service

The shuttle service supported by Abidays made it easier for many teams to commute between the halls and ensured more relaxed routes. This mobility service is to be expanded further.

Mein Ball – Dein Ball e.V. 

„Mein Ball – Dein Ball e.V.“ f  celebrated its tournament debut: the association is committed to promoting sport in Tanzania with sustainable, upcycled products. A project that touched many on site.

Outlook for 2026

Planning for next year is already underway. Registration for the 40th Pentecost Tournament in 2026 will start soon. If you would like to take part again or participate for the first time, you should register early - it's going to be big again

The 2025 Pentecost tournament set new standards - in terms of sport, organization and people. The anticipation for the next chapter is great.
